Andy wins. Partly because he is good at this. Probably moreso because Tony is bad. Either way, barring a miracle, it’s a lost season for Tony.
Week 7 | Season | Total points | Weekly average | |
Andy | 147.44 | 6-2 | 1177.5 | 147.2 |
Tony | 119.34 | 2-6 | 1008.34 | 126.0 |
Andy: I had a little bit of trouble pulling my lineup together this week. I wanted too many high-end guys. First draft ended up way over budget. This is what I arrived at.
QB – Deshaun Watson @ JAX – $7,400 – Despite not having DeAndre Hopkins this season, Watson is putting up 24 points a game and he has Jacksonville this week. There should be points to wolf down there.
RB – James Robinson vs HOU – $7,200 – The Texans/Jaguars game would not be required watching for me if not for the fantasy ramifications. Robinson is averaging 20 points per week and should have a solid outing against Houston’s bottom-feeder run defense.
RB – Josh Jacobs @ LAC – $6,500 – He’s scored all five TDs in just two games and last week was his first 100-yard rushing performance, so he’s had his ups and downs, but he got 31 carries last week, which leads me to believe the Grudens recognize what he can do when he has the ball. Feed him.
WR – Will Fuller @ JAX – $7,100 – When healthy, Fuller has the potential to be a WR1. I usually try to avoid him because of the constant injuries, but he feels like a solid stack with Watson here.
WR – DeAndre Hopkins vs MIA – $8,500 – Hopkins hasn’t had a game below seven targets this season, he’s got three double-digit catch performances and he seems to be meshing well with Kyler Murray.
WR – Antonio Brown vs NOS – $5,000 – Something tells me he’s not going to be available for $5,000 very long. It sounds like the Bucs plan to try and work him in for around a dozen plays this week. I think they’ll try to make them impactful. Remember, he seemed to mesh well with Tom Brady in their one game together in New England.
TE – Noah Fant @ ATL – $5,000 – The Falcons have been playing better on defense of late, but they don’t defend tight ends well and Fant has gotten at least six targets in all but one game in which he has played this season. I smell points.
Flex – Antonio Gibson vs NYG – $6,000 – He’s hit double-digits in five of seven weeks in this format. He gashed Dallas last week for 20.8 points and he didn’t even catch a pass. This guy looks more and more like an NFL RB every week.
DST – Kansas City vs CAR – $2,200 – The Chiefs haven’t been as good on defense this year as they were the last half of 2019, but there are a couple things at play here. First, they’re cheap. That’s my philosophy – find the cheapest defense that won’t get absolutely killed. Second, they’re playing the Panthers. Teddy Bridgewater and Co. are alright, but they don’t generally kill you on offense. If the Chiefs can get me a half-dozen points here I’ll be perfectly satisfied.
Tony:
QB – Justin Herbert vs LV – $7,300 – I could tell you the logic, but all you really need to know is he’s in my lineup, so you should probably ignore him.
RB – Dalvin Cook vs DET – $8,600 – Cook will undoubtedly follow up his 4 TD performance with a 4 yard performance in my lineup.
RB – Antonio Gibson vs NYG – $6,000 – Well, here’s one that will probably actually produce, since he’s in both of our lineups…
WR – Stefon Diggs vs SEA – $7,600 – Playing the Seahawks defense can get an offense back on track…just like being in my lineup can derail a season.
WR – Allen Robinson @ TEN – $7,300 – I don’t even really remember why I took him, other than his salary fit.
WR/TE – Christian Kirk vs MIA – $5,000 – I had a few variations on this lineup before I stumbled into Kirk…I think he was the last guy to squeeze in.
TE – Noah Fant @ ATL – $5,000 – Another cancellation of points.
FLEX – Antonio Brown vs NO – $5,000 – Wonder if Brown will see a week 2 this season? Nice thing about DFS…I don’t really care, as long as he puts up points like he did his first week last year (never mind that these points cancel).
DST – Steelers @ DAL – $2,700 – I spent a little more this week on DST, just to see how many turnovers the Cowboys can have this week.
