So of course, after a season that saw me pick games at a clip of at least 10 total games worse than the other guys, who manages to go 4-0 in the wildcard round of the playoffs? My score predictions maybe weren’t the greatest — but I even managed to get the one I wanted to get wrong right.

This week has some even more compelling games that I probably won’t watch:

Tony T.:

Indianapolis at Kansas City – The Colts are one of the most improved teams in the NFL, and finally have an offensive line–but I have some serious doubts about their ability to keep up with the Chiefs. If this was the AFC Championship game, I might trust the Andy Reid factor to kick in, but this week, I’ll give it to them. Chiefs 34, Colts 24.

Dallas at LA Rams – Unfortunately for Cowboy fans, I think they peaked last week in beating the Seahawks. The Rams are vulnerable, but I don’t think the Cowboys can muster enough to get past them. LA 27, Dallas 14.

LA Chargers at New England – Everyone seems to be thinking this is the year that the Patriots finally start to fall apart, and more than one person has said it’s the year Philip Rivers finally breaks through. I’ll believe it when I see it. New England 24,  LA 21.

Philadelphia at New Orleans – I’m a little worried with the way the Saints offense looked over the last few weeks of the regular season–I would really, really not like to see Philadelphia make it back to the NFC Championship game–especially against that vulnerable Rams team, or worse yet their division rival Cowboys. If you thought their fans were insufferable right now…just wait.

Andy:

Indianapolis at Kansas City — Snowy weather is expected in Kansas City. At the midway point in the season I would have picked Kansas City to win anyway. However … Kareem Hunt is gone, the Colts are running the ball well, the Chiefs are vulnerable on defense and … Andy Reid has occasionally lost a playoff game he should win. In the weekend’s second biggest upset, Colts 28, Chiefs 24.

Dallas at LA Rams — Goff hasn’t been the same since Cooper Kupp went down. Todd Gurley needs to have a big game for the Rams, but Dallas is pretty good against the run. I don’t think Dallas is that good, but they’re doing a fantastic job of sticking to the formula that wins games: ride Zeke, stay close and have Dak make a play late. In the weekend’s biggest upset, Cowboys 24, Rams 19.

LA Chargers at New England — The Patriots are finally starting to look a little old. The Chargers are on the road, but it’s not like they’ve really got a home field anyway. I think Philip Rivers is a man possessed. And … LA has been the second best team in the AFC much of the season. In the weekend’s third biggest upset, Chargers 30, Patriots 21.

Philadelphia at New Orleans — The Eagles are rolling. And I think we are going to find out that Drew Brees is having some shoulder issues. He hasn’t looked as good the last month as he did leading up to the final four or so games. That said, New Orleans can also run and use the short pass just as easily as playing the deep game. And while Nick Foles is on a roll and Philly is playing good ball, the Saints are just a notch or three better this year. We’ll go chalk in this one. Saints 33, Eagles 17.
