If you’re looking for assistance on your NFL Survivor Pool, we’ve got you covered … kind of.
Three of our four writers remain standing in this modified, double-elimination tournament. And we all held serve in week three. There are a couple tasty looking options this week. Here are our picks – let us know who you are choosing in your pool.
Here are this week’s picks.
Maggio: Record: 3-0
Teams used: NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta
San Diego over Jacksonville: I was very tempted to take Pittsburgh here, but they’ve been so up-and-down the first three weeks (granted, more up than down) that I’d like to see a little more first despite facing the hapless Buccaneers at home. The Chargers have looked more than solid the first three weeks and get the hapless Jaguars at home, so I’ll pick San Diego to stay classy in this one.
John: Record: 3-0
Teams used: NY Jets, Denver, New England
San Diego over Jacksonville: My only hesitation on this pick is that the Jaguars are finally making the switch to Blake Bortles at QB and the Chargers are dealing with some key injuries. Still, the Bolts should roll at home.
Andy: Record: 2-1
Teams used: Philadelphia, San Francisco, New England
Pittsburgh over Tampa Bay: After a few weeks my picks in survival pools amount to identifying the two or three worst teams in the league and seeing who I have left from their opponents in any given week. It was a toss-up this week. San Diego should pummel Jacksonville. But Tampa Bay’s showing last week was as bad as I’ve seen in a few years. Might they show some pride in week four? Potentially. But the Panthers are better than the Bucs and the Steelers whooped up on them pretty easily. I’d feel pretty comfortable either way.
Tony: Record: 0-2 (Eliminated)
Teams used: Chicago, New Orleans
