Anthony Maggio did miss one game earlier this season but for the most part he’s given you a blueprint this season for how you want to run a survivor pool. He’s mixed and matched picking great teams versus great match-ups and he’s heading into week 16 with a home team taking on a sinking ship. That’s how it’s gotta be done this late in the season. Here’s the 14-1 maestro‘s pick for week 16.
Maggio: Carolina over Cleveland
Teams used: Detroit, Miami, NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Minnesota, Kansas City
This really came down to choosing either Carolina or Pittsburgh, as I didn’t want my fate to lie in the hands of the Jaguars or 49ers. If I had to choose one of the latter two it would be the former since I can’t trust San Francisco, but the Panthers and Steelers should both win at home. But since Carolina gets to face a team on the slide rather than one that can jump up and bite anyone at any time, I’ll go with the Panthers shutting down Jonathan Football.
John: Record before eliminated: 4-2 (1-1 in consolation round)
Teams used: Arizona, Dallas, Seattle, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Green Bay, Baltimore
Eliminated again.
Who I would take if I was still alive: Buffalo over Oakland: This Buffalo D is legit, allowing just 18.1 points per game. And if the Bills can upset the red-hot Packers, they shouldn’t have any trouble beating the lowly Raiders.
Tony: Record before eliminated: 0-2 (4-1 in consolation round)
Teams used: Indianapolis, Cleveland, New England, Denver, Seattle, Arizona, Green Bay, San Francisco, Kansas City
Eliminated again.
Who I would take if I was still alive: Buffalo over Oakland: At this point, I’ve lost so many of these things I don’t even know who I can and can’t use any more—so I’ll throw out the Buffalo Bills against the Oakland Raiders. Sure, Oakland has been better as of late, but they’ve got to be smelling the end of the misery that is their season (this also applies to the Chicago Bears, so go ahead and make Detroit another solid pick). All the Bills have to do is avoid any pains traveling west and avoid a letdown after thumping the supposed NFC Champion in waiting Green Bay Packers.
Andy: Record before eliminated: 2-2 (0-1 in consolation round)
Teams used: Miami, Seattle, Detroit, Denver, San Diego, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Indianapolis
Eliminated again.
Who I would take if I was still alive: Baltimore over Houston: The Texans are down possibly to a fourth-string QB who was out of the game up until a couple weeks ago. The Ravens aren’t great, but they’re on a pretty good roll. They aren’t losing this game.

Need a winner this week. My best left are CAR, STL, MIA, DAL. PLEASE HELP
I’d roll with Carolina there. Good luck!
So 20 people voted, and six people sided with me?
They deserved to lose, if they were actually still alive in their survivor pools…
