Geez, there isn’t anything coming easy this season.

Carolina ended up winning by a decent margin, but that was a one-score game far deeper than I expected.

The three of us that are still alive rode with Cam and Crew last week. Rich and Maggio rode long-shots to a 0-2 marks in the consolation round.

How will we fare in week three? You be the judge:

Vomhof: Miami
Andy: Miami
Tony: Dallas
Maggio: Carolina
Rich: Arizona

Vomhof: (Previous picks: Seattle, Carolina) Listen, Miami hasn’t looked pretty bad while opening the season 0-2. But playing at home against a dreadful Cleveland club that will be forced to start its third-string, rookie quarterback? Sign me up!

Andy: (Previous picks: Seattle, Carolina) Cleveland showed signs of life in the first half against Baltimore last week. Then Josh McCown went down and Cody Kessler got his first playing time. And the bubble burst. Some fantasy football media members were actually suggesting converting Terrelle Pryor from WR back to QB to play this week for the Browns, in case Kessler’s not quite ready. I wouldn’t put it past Miami to lose this game, but there are few great options this week and I’ll take my chances with a solid defense against a third-string QB in his first start.

Tony: (Previous picks: Seattle, Carolina) There are no great choices this week—the best seem to be choosing a rookie trying to win his third ever start against the hapless Bears, and an 0-2 Miami team up against a rookie making his first ever start, after starting the season as QB3 for possibly the worst team in the league. It says something on my feelings towards the Dolphins right now that I am going with the Cowboys.

Consolation round:

Maggio: (Previous picks: Arizona, Detroit) Did I not tell you to bet the house on the Titans to win? Yes, Detroit was my survivor pool pick. Yes, I’m 0-for-2 on survivor picks for two weeks. At least my actual picks went a little better this week. But still, I’m an embarrassment to my family and my community. Let’s see if I can make things right by selecting the Carolina Panthers to win at home after struggling at home last week to a far inferior opponent. Seems like a sound strategy.

Rich: (Previous picks: Los Angeles, Seattle) The Cardinals rebounded from a tough week one loss to utterly destroy a mediocre Tampa Bay team 40-7. Imagine what they can do to a team like Buffalo, which is currently in a state of Rex Ryan turmoil. Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald are playing like they’ve been together for a decade, David Johnson has picked up right where he left off at the end of the 2015 season, and the team looks even better than they did last season, if that’s even possible. Buffalo has Tyrod Taylor, who can certainly run around and avoid a pass rush, but with Sammy Watkins unable to focus due to the pain in his foot, Taylor has nobody to catch his passes. LeSean McCoy is an excellent running back, but he won’t be able to do it all against the Cardinals’ defense.
