All who were alive remain so and each of us hit our week four survivor bet – though the Colts certainly made it an interesting endeavor.
Just goes to show nothing comes easy in the NFL. Here are our picks for week five and who we’ve chosen throughout the season. Explanations follow below.
This week’s pick | Previously used | |
Andy | Kansas City | Green Bay, Arizona, Seattle, Indianapolis |
Tony | New England | Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Indianapolis |
Rich | NY Giants | NY Jets, New England, Seattle, Green Bay |
Maggio | Kansas City | New England, New Orleans (eliminated), Seattle, Indianapolis |
Vomhof | Kansas City | Green Bay, New Orleans (eliminated), Seattle, Indianapolis |
Andy – Co-founder, editorial director
Early on part of my strategy has been betting on teams that play against Chicago. It came down this week to Kansas City for that reason or Denver over Oakland. I’m confident in either, but ultimately I’m going to save the Broncos for a later date – possibly for when they take on the Bears later in the season.
Tony – Co-founder, web guru
If not for Tony Romo’s shoulder, this would be a premier matchup, which NBC would surely have preferred to have the chance to flex to Sunday night. But with Brandon Weeden starting at QB for the ‘boys, the Cowboys will squander this rare chance to be the lesser hated team in a nationally covered game.
Rich – Contributing writer and publisher and editor for SouthernMinn SCENE magazine
As it turns out, San Francisco really is a terrible as we thought they would be coming into the season. And because Colin Kaepernick is a twerp.
Maggio – Fantasy editor (Eliminated)
Once again, I think Atlanta is the easy pick here, but I’ll continue to save the Falcons for down the road. As much as Chicago’s early-season schedule did them no favors en route to a 1-3 record, I still don’t think they have the personnel to handle Kansas City in Arrowhead. I think the game will be close so I’ll probably be sweating this one out, but overall I think the Chiefs are in a good spot to be used now.
Vomhof – Senior contributing writer (Eliminated)
Wait a minute. I need to pick just one team to win this week, and I’m going all in on a club that has lost three straight games and is tied for the NFL lead in most points allowed this season? I know they’ve allowed 30-plus points in three straight games, but that was against the Broncos, Packers and the red-hot Bengals–a far cry from the hapless Bears, who are averaging just 17 points per game.Chiefs get the win at home.
