His thoughts:
I started my draft with the intentions of going running back heavy. Due to my stupidity, and not finding the live draft button in time WR Calvin Johnson was selected for me. Once I found out it was a PPR league, I instantly became happy with that choice. I ended up pretty solid at receiver.
The RB’s went fast, which is always the case in any draft. I felt like everyone had a great first round. The top 6 picks all were selected right about where they should’ve been. Personally, I would’ve taken Doug Martin over C.J. Spiller but honestly, you cannot go wrong with either.
My biggest reach, to me, would be my third round choice of QB Colin Kaepernick. I feel like he’s poised to have a solid fantasy year, but after evaluating my team, I took him too early. My bonehead pick – and I’m sure It will be voted as the worst – was RB LeGarrette Blount. The way I see it, Blount is a Belichick kind of guy, meaning he’s got talent, but has never been able to put it all together. Belichick loves prospect players like him, so I see him making that team and making a difference. Only time will tell. Either way, I shouldn’t have drafted him.
I went TE heavy in this draft, especially after finding out it was a PPR league. I went homer, sorta, with Tony Gonzalez, and took his old rival Antonio Gates. I might end up starting two TEs a few weeks depending on the matchups and injuries. My RBs aren’t that strong, but I feel like Chris Johnson, my 2nd pick, is going to have a big year. They upgraded their offensive line and, due to the Titans lousy QB play, they’re going to feed him the rock.
I went homer on a few picks by taking Dwayne Bowe, and KC’s defense. I really feel that KC will have a top three defense in the AFC this year. The Chiefs loaded up on what was already a talent heavy defense. I think they’re going to force a lot of turnovers and sacks, helping to score me some points. Offensively, the only Chiefs selected were RB Jamaal Charles (fourth overall) and my selection of Dwayne Bowe.
To me, the best team on paper is The Turf Show Times. I love his RB group and his QB Matt Ryan. All in all, everyone has a solid team but I will definitely be in this thing down the stretch.
