Dr. Phil needs to apply for a job in football. He continues to pace the pick segment. His 13 wins last week put some distance between him and the rest of us. Tony continues to lead those of us who write for the site. His 11-4 also left the rest of us further in his dust. I continue lagging behind, though I can call bragging rights on the Washington win on Monday night. I’m just not sold on Dallas.
Here are the standings so far:
Name | Week 8 | Overall |
Dr. Phil | 13-2 | 85-35-1 |
Tony | 11-4 | 81-39-1 |
John | 9-6 | 77-43-1 |
Maggio | 8-7 | 73-47-1 |
Andy | 10-5 | 73-47-1 |
There are a lot of bye weeks this week and a bunch of games that feel like potential one-sided blowouts. Theoretically that could mean padding the stats a bit? There – I jinxed it. Gotta keep things interesting.

Game of the Week: Arizona at Dallas – This game will help reveal whether one or both of these surprise division leaders are for real. The Cardinals were supposed to be good, but also were supposed to struggle with rivals San Francisco and Seattle in the stacked NFC West. I am a believer – I think this team has a good enough defense and just enough at the QB position to stay in the mix all season. Dallas … the offensive line is top notch and the commitment to the run has stuck so far. As long as those aspects stay true to form the Cowboys should be alright. I just can’t help but think Jerry Jones is going to find a way to get bored and try to do something to make it more flashy. We’ll see.
Game of the Weak: Washington at Minnesota – Sure, Colt McCoy led Washington to a nice win over Dallas on Monday night. And Anthony Barr took back an overtime fumble for the winning points in Tampa on Sunday. These two teams are going nowhere this season.
This week I’m going Carolina, Cleveland, Arizona, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Cincinnati, San Diego, Minnesota, San Francisco, New England, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis.
