Lose one here, lose one there … pretty soon it’s week 15 and you’re in danger of losing the house over a stupid pick ‘em pool.

Hypothetically.

Yes, we’re at week 15. Our picks last week were … better. We still trail most of the “experts” and NFLPickwatch.com this season. But we’re starting to catch on, at least a little bit.

Here are the standings:

  Week 14 Overall
Tony 11-5 126-80-2
Andy 11-5 116-90-2
Vomhof 10-6 130-76-2
Maggio 9-7 120-86-2

John Vomhof had pulled away from the pack for a while. Tony’s starting to catch up. Not sure if there are enough questionable games this week to narrow the gap. Here are the picks:

Game of the Week: Tampa Bay at Dallas – The Detroit/NY Giants game or the New England/Denver game might seem the obvious choices here, and I will have eyes heavily focused on those games – especially the latter – for multiple reasons (come on, Brady, it’s fantasy playoff time!!!). But I am equally intrigued by the red-hot Tampa Bucs. And their run has not come at the expense of dregs – they’ve knocked off Kansas City and Seattle along the way. Can they keep it up against the suddenly mortal looking Cowboys?

Game of the Weak: New Orleans at Arizona – There are no 49ers/Jets or 49ers/Bears games on the docket this week. Most games feature at least one competitive team. I chose this contest more because it features a Saints team that seemed on the brink of getting back into the playoff hunt until disappointing performances the last two weeks against a Cardinals team that seems to have last truly showed up during last season’s playoff run. I’d still watch this one, but it’s not nearly as meaningful as it should be.
