Well … that was ugly.

Contributing writer John Vomhof led the pack by picking 11 games correctly in week one. Nobody else got more than nine. Fantasy Editor Maggio missed 10.

All in all, it was a rough start to the season for our pickers. Better things to come?

Here are the standings:

  Record
Vomhof 11-5
Tony 9-7
Andy 8-8
Maggio 6-10

It’s difficult to get a read on the NFL for the first few weeks of the season. And week two presents another collection of unpredictable match-ups. Here are our picks:

Game of the Week: Green Bay at Minnesota – When Teddy Bridgewater went down, it looked like this game may have lost some luster. But the Vikings made a gutty trade for Sam Bradford, who will likely debut this week. And the defense, in week one, looked like it was again ready to contend for a playoff berth. Green Bay eked out a close win over Jacksonville in the opener. With Jordy Nelson back, it’ll be fun to see the full-strength Packers offense try to find ways to solve Coach Zimmer’s defense, as the Vikings open Zygi-World Stadium for real.

Game of the Weak: Philadelphia at Chicago – Does ESPN get any say at all in who plays on their Monday Night schedule? The best thing about this game is the opportunity for the nation to get a good look at Eagles rookie Carson Wentz. Beyond that, it’s two teams in rebuilding mode showing off how bad they still are on prime time television.
