Well, I opened last week’s pick post asking if we could capitalize in momentum from our first collective good week in week 9. The answer was no.
We batted just .500 as a team in week 10. Upsets killed us again.
This is a weird as league sometimes.
Here are the standings:
Week 10 | Overall | |
Tony | 8-6 | 83-62-2 |
Vomhof | 7-7 | 89-56-2 |
Andy | 7-7 | 77-71-2 |
Maggio | 6-8 | 81-64-2 |
So here we go again. Here are our picks for week 11.

Game of the Week: Houston at Oakland – Ok, this might not be two great teams, but it is a tilt between two division leaders, each of which has some strengths and some obvious weaknesses. The Raiders are up-and-coming, young, with a soon-to-be great QB and some solid skill position players. The defense is a work in progress. The Texans have a solid defense and great skill position players, but a young QB who is, to say the least, struggling. I think both teams are a year away, at least, from truly contending for a championship, but it should be an interesting game to watch. Nice change for a Monday nighter.
Game of the Weak: New Orleans at Carolina – This might have taken on a different tenor if the Saints hadn’t had an extra point blocked and run back for two points to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against Denver. But now it’s the 3-6 Panthers, one of the most disappointing year-after-Super-Bowl-loss teams in a long, long time, against a Saints team that has been plucky, but still lacks the skill on defense to really be much of a threat against really good teams. Should be lots of scoring, but outside of that, I’d rather tune in to Louisville at Houston tonight.
