For as rough as week two was, we managed to weather another unpredictable week three far better.
Andy and Rich rebounded from a combined sub-.500 effort with matching 14-2 marks. That jumped Andy into a tie for the season lead with Anthony Maggio and Rich to within just a few games.
Everyone scored at least 11 right.
Here are the standings so far:
Week three | Overall | |
Andy | 14-2 | 32-16 |
Maggio | 12-4 | 32-16 |
Tony | 13-3 | 29-19 |
Rich | 14-2 | 29-19 |
Vomhof | 11-5 | 26-22 |
Week four starts the bye weeks and also includes an 8:30 a.m. kickoff in the states, as Miami and the Jets tangle in London.
Still some real surprises in who is winless (Baltimore? Detroit?) and who is undefeated (Atlanta?) to this point. Will normalcy return? Or is this going to be just another unpredictable NFL season? Here are our picks for week four:

Game of the Week: Minnesota at Denver – The week’s slate lacks huge games. The Jets/Dolphins tilt could be big in terms of potential wild card tiebreaking at some point, but the Patriots are running away with that division and the Bills are probably better than both Miami and New York right now too. Green Bay and San Francisco would have been great a couple years ago, but the 49ers are in for a rough year. In the meantime, Minnesota and Denver both sport top 10 defenses and they’re both winning while trying to get their offenses on track. It has the makings of an interesting game.
Game of the Weak: Oakland at Chicago – The Bears just look sad. And the Raiders are 2-1, but have beaten the likes of Cleveland and the winless Ravens sans Terrell Suggs. While I do think they are improved, I’m not going to be sold on Oakland until they beat someone of significance – and that team is going to have to be better than Chicago.
