The NFL continues to be delightfully unpredictable.weekly-picks

One week after nearly all of us tanked, Andy rebounded from a 5-9 week to go 11-3.

That allowed him to pick up three games in the overall standings, as nobody else cleared eight.

Seven games separate the top (Tony) from fourth (Maggio), with two of our pickers selecting winners accurately enough to rank in the top 25 (tied) with the so-called experts followed by NFLPickwatch.com.

We may be having a down season by our standards, but it appears as though it’s either not as bad as we thought or we are not alone.

Mild consolation after the struggles of the last month.

Here are the standings:

  Week 11 Overall
Andy 11-3 99-61
Tony 8-6 104-56
Rich 8-6 100-60
Maggio 8-6 97-63
Vomhof 7-7 89-71

Looking over the schedule for the week it isn’t going to get any easier. There are a lot of mediocre games on the slate this week, but they mostly match up teams of similar ability. So expect another week of confusion.

Game of the Week: New England at Denver – Gotta be honest, I’m not as excited as I would have been about this one if the Broncos had Peyton Manning and he was playing well. The undefeated Pats face probably their biggest challenge to date. Brock Osweiler looked alright against the Bears, though I was hoping for a bit more. The Pats are banged up, but they just keep finding ways to win. I’ll watch, but I think Tom Brady schools the youngster in his second start Sunday night.

Game of the Weak: Baltimore at Cleveland – There will be no miracle resurgence this season for the Ravens. At 3-7 and now missing Joe Flacco to the walking wounded, Baltimore now turns to Matt Schaub for the rest of the season. Cleveland, meanwhile, is trying to decide whether in another lost season to continue starting John Manziel. Really? What else do you hope to accomplish this year? At a combined 5-15, this match-up has to have ESPN execs doing some day drinking as they try to figure out how to keep a Monday night audience engaged.
