I think I want to take Dr. Phil to Las Vegas for a football weekend. He’s on an incredible roll, tying once again for the top standings spot in week 10 – with Andy – at 10-3.
All five pickers nailed nine or more, so it was a good week. Here are the standings:
Name | Week 10 | Overall |
Dr. Phil | 10-3 | 105-41-1 |
Tony | 9-4 | 100-46-1 |
John | 9-4 | 94-52-1 |
Maggio | 9-4 | 91-55-1 |
Andy | 10-3 | 91-55-1 |
There aren’t a lot of barnburners this week, but there are a couple NFC games that could have a significant impact on the playoff race. Here’s who we think is going to win:
Andy | Tony | John | Maggio | |

Game of the Week: Detroit at Arizona – It wasn’t that long ago this game would have been the Game of the Weak. But this year, Arizona is 8-1 and Detroit is 7-2 – and this game could play a role in deciding byes and home field advantage in the playoffs. The game lost some luster when Carson Palmer went down, but it also will be even more interesting to see how far the Cardinals’ defense can carry the team. Detroit, now relatively full strength with Calvin Johnson back, will provide a stiff test. Philadelphia at Green Bay is another big game that likely will have playoff implications.
Game of the Weak: Atlanta at Carolina – It’s a bit of a weird week. There aren’t a ton of great games that jump out, but there are few bad ones. This is one of them, though. I hate to keep ripping on Atlanta, but this team has, for the most part, been a disaster. A terrible offensive line and nonexistent pass rush have hampered the Falcons on both sides of the ball. In Carolina, Cam Newton has regressed behind an equally bad offensive line and a new set of wide receivers devoid of any star power outside rookie Kelvin Benjamin. The teas’ combined record is 6-12-1. The win total most likely will increase this week only because it almost has to.

How did the NFC South become the worst division? It’s a good case for showing how things can change easily from year to year.
Ok, so picks are Miami, Cleveland, Carolina, Minnesota, New Orleans, Denver, Kansas City, NY Giants, Washington, San Diego, Arizona, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh.
