Uff da. The moderate success these writers experienced in week nine did not carry over, as between them both, they combined for just one winning bet and one tie in week 10.
The numbers are atrocious, folks. If this segment is must-see blog posting, it has to be for nothing other than the “car crash” factor – it’s ugly but you can’t look away.
Here are the standings:
Week 10 W/L | Week 10 $$ | Season W/L | Season $$ | Bankroll | |
Tony | 0-3-1 | -$2,900 | 13-24-3 | -$5,705 | $4,295 |
Andy | 1-3 | -$991 | 14-25-1 | -$7,495 | $2,505 |
Andy – Uggh. This is brutal. Embarrassing. We suck at gambling. … Maybe there is an upside to this pandemic – we haven’t been able to go to Las Vegas and try this with real money.
$700 – Kansas City (-7, -105) at Las Vegas – The Raiders are improving, but they already got their win against the Chiefs this season. Kansas City won’t be sleeping on them this time and, while Jon Gruden has Las Vegas heading in the right direction, top to bottom the Chiefs are still better.
$700 – Los Angeles Chargers (-9, +100) vs NY Jets – New York played New England close last week, actually leading most of the game, before losing in the end. I think after putting up that kind of fight and coming up short, losing big this week is a likely outcome. Even the Chargers shouldn’t be able to screw this one up.
$700 – Pittsburgh (-10, -105) at Jacksonville – The Steelers nearly choked away an easy one against Dallas last week. The Jaguars gamely held in against Green Bay. It feels like the Jaguars will come back to Earth while the Steelers will be fired up to put the wood to the Jags.
$300 – Dallas (+280 money line) at Minnesota – It’d be just the Kirk Cousins way to win three big division games and claw back into the fringes of the playoff race, only to lose the first of a three-game stretch against supposedly lesser competition.
Tony
$1,000 – NY Jets (+9.5, -108) at LA Chargers – If the Jets are going to win a game this year, this might be their last shot. I don’t think they’re going to, but they can probably keep it close.
$1,000 – Green Bay (+1, +100) at Indianapolis – Wait, I’m getting a point AND a +100 payout? I could take two points and get the standard -110, but…why?
$1,000 – Pittsburgh at Jacksonville: Under 46 (-110) – No idea…just seems like a good bet that Jacksonville won’t put up much.
$300 – Tennessee (+200 moneyline) at Baltimore – Not a lot of good looking options this week–so I’ll take the game that was one of the toughest to pick.
