Anthony Maggio did miss one game earlier this season but for the most part he’s given you a blueprint this season for how you want to run a survivor pool. He’s mixed and matched picking great teams versus great match-ups and he’s heading into week 16 with a home team taking on a sinking ship. That’s how it’s gotta be done this late in the season. Here’s the 14-1 maestro‘s pick for week 16. (more…)

Detroit came through on Thanksgiving. Anthony Maggio is up to 12-1. And the beat rolls on.
Maggio: Minnesota over NY Jets
Teams used: Detroit, Miami, NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore, Indianapolis
It’ll be pretty fitting if it’s the Vikings that are my ultimate downfall after a pretty good run here. But Minnesota’s defense has played well–especially at home–and the Jets offense has played well nowhere. While New York’s defense could keep the game close, like it did on Monday night against the Dolphins, I’m betting against them repeating that performance on the road on a short week. (more…)

One would hope Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio has entered himself in a few survivor pools this season. He’s on a roll.
Our format – double elimination – isn’t the norm for these pools. But he’s still at an impressive 11-1.
The rest of us, well, take our picks for what they are worth – between us I think we’re missed about eight or nine games now. Frankly, we stopped keeping track.
Maggio: Detroit over Chicago
Teams used: Miami, NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore, Indianapolis (more…)

This is getting embarrassing.
Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio continued to rock the Zoneblitz Survivor Pool, selecting Miami to win over Buffalo last Thursday night. So he runs his record to 10-1 for the season in this double elimination event.
But Tony’s incorrect selection of Cleveland over Houston means the other three of us have not only been eliminated from the regular pool, but have flunked out of our consolation round as well.
So … take these picks with a grain of salt – and probably don’t pay attention to anyone but Maggio.
Maggio: Indianapolis over Jacksonville
Teams used: Miami, NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore

Anthony’s run continued with the Baltimore win over Tennessee last weekend. He’s 9-1 in this double elimination pool. Can he keep it up?
Maggio: Miami over Buffalo
Teams used: NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore
It’s real tempting to avoid the sinister Thursday night game here and go with Cleveland over a Ryan Mallet-led Houston, but I don’t like betting on what I don’t know, and Arian Foster could make Mallet’s job easy. Meanwhile the Dolphins, even though they just lost, looked good on the road against one of the top contenders in the NFC. I think at home against lesser competition on a short week where the opposition has to travel adds up to a South Beach victory weekend. (more…)

Seattle didn’t win by much, but the Seahawks did come through. So Anthony Maggio is still alive in our double-elimination survivor pool. And the rest of us hacks got it right too.
Here’s our advice for week 10 … follow it at your own peril.
Maggio: Baltimore over Tennessee
Teams used: NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle (more…)
