After a tough week two, we all hit our survivor picks in week three. There are a couple relatively safe-feeling picks this week. They ended up being nearly unanimous again. Here’s who we picked and why:

Zoneblitz Survivor Pool 2015: Week 3

The first couple weeks there was a mix of selections. That cost two of our players, as returning champ Anthony Maggio and John Vomhof Jr. bowed out. Not sure any of us will have the guts to rely on New Orleans anytime soon.

The schedule has just a couple mismatches on it this week. It’s near unanimous in week three.

Zoneblitz Survivor Pool 2015: Week 2

It looked a little dicey through the first half, but Green Bay hung on to beat Chicago, ensuring that unlike any time last year, all five of us survived the survivor pool.

It’s not going to be any easier in the second week. Man, there have been some tough games to predict through these first couple sets of games. Here’s what we all came up with this week.

Zoneblitz Survivor Pool 2015: Week 1

Back by popular demand, err, because we need to fill space, is our second annual survivor pool.

Which is kind of funny, if you think about  it, because last year all but one of us were out by week four.

Anthony Maggio won. He actually went 16-1 on the season. The rest of us … meh. Nonetheless, here are our picks for week one, with explanations below.

Bets, Picks, Survivor: Wrapping up 2014

The last 17 weeks have flown by in a flash. It feels like just a couple weeks ago I was boarding a plane for Vegas, where my last fantasy football draft took place. But in actuality, in a week or so, I’ll be collecting the winnings – and a sweet trophy – that go along with that title.

Enough bragging – this season was actually fairly frustrating for me otherwise. Middle-of-the-road in game picks. Good start in our bets segment only to see it disintegrate big time in the season’s final third. A lackluster performance in our inaugural survivor pool. In truth, there was never a point during this season during which I felt like I truly got a grasp on what was going to happen from week to week.

Some of my colleagues fared better than me, however. And in the spirit of accountability, here’s a breakdown of how those competitions went, starting with bets. (more…)

Zoneblitz Survivor Pool: Week 17

It’s the holidays and we all really should be spending this time with our families, so I won’t belabor the point. Last week’s survivor results mirrored those for the rest of the season: The rest of us got our picks wrong, but Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio continued his run with a comfortable Carolina win.

He now sits at 15-1 as the season comes to a close.
