Four of five hit last week. Tough break on Green Bay – who knew the Colts would actually slow down Green Bay’s now less than stellar offense.
We’re united this week – 5-0 or 0-5. And we’ll know quickly. Here goes:
Tony: Baltimore
Vomhof: Baltimore

Jay Cutler and the Bears sent shockwaves through many survivor pools, including this one, with his leading an upset win over the woeful Vikings Monday night.
That’s why they call it gambling.
We’ll take another stab in week nine.
Tony: Kansas City
Vomhof: Dallas
Andy: Dallas
Maggio: Kansas City
Rich: Green Bay

Looks like Survivor Pool champ Tony has taken a couple weeks off. Everyone else hit a pick in week seven.
Here’s the landscape for week eight:
Tony: Minnesota
Vomhof: Minnesota
Andy: Kansas City
Maggio: Tennessee
Rich: Minnesota

Well, the Buffalo group did alright last week. The Pittsburgh group, hampered by the injury to Ben Roethlisberger and an unpredictably good game played by Miami, did not fare so well.
Pool winner Tony suffered his first loss of the season. He’s tied with John Vomhof, who is dominating our pick-related segments at this point.
We’ll ring every ounce of life out of this segment at least twice, if we haven’t already, though, so here we go with picks for week seven:
Tony: Atlanta
Vomhof: Cincinnati
Andy: Denver
Maggio: Cincinnati
Rich: Kansas City
And here is why:
Tony: (Previous picks: Seattle, Carolina, Dallas, New England, Pittsburgh) Yes, the Chargers just beat the Broncos, and the Falcons just lost to the Seahawks—but the Chargers struggle mightily traveling east (could probably just delete those last two words), and the Falcons were on the road for a loss that probably should have seen at least an attempt at a FG for the win. I’m still not convinced that the Falcons are 100% for real, but I’ll give them the shot over San Diego.
Vomhof: (Previous picks: Seattle, Carolina, Miami, Arizona, New England, Buffalo) This is a pick against the hapless Browns more than a pick for the disappointing Bengals. Hard to see Cleveland getting its first W on the road against a division rival (or ever, really).
Andy: (Previous picks: Seattle, Carolina, Miami, Carolina, New England, Pittsburgh) When I don’t feel like I have a clue what’s going to happen, there is a site I go to that follows the NFL picks of a couple hundred “experts” across the country. When I visited that site yesterday, 100 percent of the picks received to that point had Denver over Houston, including people picking at a significantly higher rate than I am for the season. That’s good enough for me this week.
Maggio: (Previous picks: Arizona, Detroit, Carolina, Washington, Oakland, Buffalo) Too bad I waited until Week 4 to start doing this survivor pool thing correct, eh? This week’s pick doesn’t take too much analysis. Cleveland playing on the road should mean a loss regardless of the opponent, but certainly will be so against a halfway decent Bengals squad trying to turn down the temperature of Marvin Lewis’ seat.
Rich: (Previous picks: Los Angeles, Seattle, Arizona, Dallas, New England, Pittsburgh) Because I said so.
Everybody’s a winner.
No, we’re not handing out trophies for our lackluster performances so far, but for the first time this season, we all got our survivor picks right.
That had to do, in large part, to the return of Angry Tom Brady and his opposition, the lowly Cleveland Browns. Anthony Maggio was the only picker who did not feast on the Patriots’ week five match-up. He won, instead, with the Oakland Raiders.
There are several competitive games this week. So finding a good survivor pick was challenging. So we all climbed on the backs of two teams. Here are our picks for week six:
Tony: Pittsburgh
Vomhof: Buffalo
Andy: Pittsburgh
Maggio: Buffalo
Rich: Pittsburgh

Yes on offense I agree that controlling the ball via rushing attack is needed but like the Lions found out…
Paul: easier said than done. Daniels is not your typical rookie qb. He already has more no punt/no turnover games…
Key will be for Eagles defense to press Daniels (as rookie QB) into mistakes and perhaps INT-take advantage of his…
Brian Wolf: I love your optimism, but I’m not so sure. Philly is a deeply flawed team, but I’m not…
Good playoff games this weekend, with the Bills getting another chance to beat the Chiefs in postseason. I predict they…
