Week four felt like another exercise in futility, but we actually didn’t fare too badly. Fantasy Editor Maggio continues showing he can pick more than fake football ranks. He won the week with 12 out of 15 correct. Andy and Tony trailed by one. Here are the standings:
For as rough as week two was, we managed to weather another unpredictable week three far better.
Andy and Rich rebounded from a combined sub-.500 effort with matching 14-2 marks. That jumped Andy into a tie for the season lead with Anthony Maggio and Rich to within just a few games.
Everyone scored at least 11 right.
Here are the standings so far:

Week four starts the bye weeks and also includes an 8:30 a.m. kickoff in the states, as Miami and the Jets tangle in London.
Still some real surprises in who is winless (Baltimore? Detroit?) and who is undefeated (Atlanta?) to this point. Will normalcy return? Or is this going to be just another unpredictable NFL season? Here are our picks for week four:
After watching some of the games go down this last weekend I will not believe anyone scored well. Here at Zoneblitz, nobody got more than half the games right.
So we move on. Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio’s survivor pool dominance came to an end last week, but he’s still on top of the picks after two weeks. Here are the standings:
Well, week one was interesting. Andrew Luck largely shut down. Tyrod Taylor looking like a future Hall of Famer. Of course – that’s what happens in the NFL.
Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio paced the picks in week one, nailing several upsets, including both Monday nighters. The rest of us ranged between eight and 10 correct picks.

Now we head into week two. And the games get no easier. Were week one results from teams like Philadelphia, Minnesota, San Francisco and Buffalo flukes? Or are they signs that the balance of power has or has not actually shifted for those teams? How will injuries play out? Here’s who we think wins.
Finally, after a preseason that seemed to last even longer than your average crappy set of four meaningless games, we’re once again set for some real football.
I went back over the last couple years of picks this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to remind myself that we’ve actually done pretty well in this segment over the years. In 2013, Tony and Andy tied for the top slot. In 2014, Dr. Phil filed his picks in the comments section and beat us all pretty handily, but Tony improved by five games over 2013 in finishing third behind last year’s new contributor John Vomhof Jr.

After a year off, Rich returns. Dr. Phil will, I’m sure, make his intentions known soon. I hope we get a shot at avenging our defeat. In the meantime, let’s finally start talking some real football again. Here we go with our inaugural picks for the 2015 campaign:
Normally the Divisional Round of the playoffs is among the most dramatic. And while a couple of games ended up being pretty one-sided, the Patriots/Ravens game was exciting, the Cowboys/Packers game was controversial and the Broncos/Colts game has provided the now ongoing drama of whether or not it was Peyton Manning’s last game.
Tony saw it the best from our crew. He was 4-0 this week. Anthony Maggio has been consistent in the playoffs, posting 3-1 marks both weeks. Here’s where we stand so far:

Last week’s games, however, have left the Championship Weekend contests feeling a little bit anti-climatic. There are four really good teams left, but Aaron Rodgers’ injury (did you know he hurt his calf a few weeks ago?), the dominance of the Seahawks defense and the pure brilliance of Bill Belichick have dominated the story lines.
