The grind that is the COVID-affected 2020 football season has approached the final quarter of the season. Andy still has a solid lead in the picks segments, but a couple big wins the last three weeks have brought Tony back to within striking distance.

We’re one bye week game away from being done with them for the season, assuming COVID doesn’t push any games into the hypothetical week 18. So far, so good, at least according to what has hit the media so far, knock on wood. Here are the alternative picks for this week: (more…)
Another week, another loss for Tony, who once again forgot to take someone who was ruled out of his lineup out, and at this point is just hoping to not end the season with a balance on Fanball, because he’d like to never use them again. Not because of his performance this year, which has been dismal, but because of weeks like this where they refused to offer a slate of lineups that used all 16 games–while featuring slates like Thursday night (now Tuesday) only lineups, and Monday Night/Tuesday night lineups.

So we skipped the Thanksgiving games–which ended up with a couple of solid games from guys who have been in our lineups a few times, like Antonio Gibson, and here we are.
A meaningless garbage time cover by the hapless New York Jets swung week 11 in Tony’s favor. He took the Jets +9.5 and, hence, he added to his bankroll. Andy had the Chargers at -9. He still virtually broke even, but the result doesn’t leave him with a lot of breathing room.

Andy lost big in week 10, but rebounded in week 11 to start rebuilding his lost lead.
It was tighter – neither picker was particularly accurate. But Andy narrowly won the week.

Anyone else disappointed with the Thanksgiving slate of games? Detroit, Houston, Dallas, Washington? Yay, I can fall asleep watching half the NFC East suck Thursday afternoon. (more…)
Another week, and right back on track for Andy, with a 121.1-91.58 victory. Doesn’t help when Tony forgets that he started a guy that was ruled out.

Andy: Normally I’m not really one to play a Thursday night stack, but the match-up this week is too good. Well, it looked good on paper anyway. We’ll see if that holds true. (more…)
Uff da. The moderate success these writers experienced in week nine did not carry over, as between them both, they combined for just one winning bet and one tie in week 10.
The numbers are atrocious, folks. If this segment is must-see blog posting, it has to be for nothing other than the “car crash” factor – it’s ugly but you can’t look away.

Andy – Uggh. This is brutal. Embarrassing. We suck at gambling. … Maybe there is an upside to this pandemic – we haven’t been able to go to Las Vegas and try this with real money.
