Geez, there isn’t anything coming easy this season.
Carolina ended up winning by a decent margin, but that was a one-score game far deeper than I expected.
The three of us that are still alive rode with Cam and Crew last week. Rich and Maggio rode long-shots to a 0-2 marks in the consolation round.
How will we fare in week three? You be the judge: (more…)

Hmm.
Our picks seemed to be going better through the early games on Sunday. Then the afternoon kickoffs hit and … everything went to hell again.
Losses by Seattle, Oakland, Jacksonville, Green Bay and Chicago took solid numbers and turned them into near .500 level performances by the ZB pickers again this week.
John Vomhof Jr. is the only one who seems to have any clue what’s going to happen. He paced the picks for the second week in a row, with 10 correct.
Here are the standings:

Week 2 |
Overall |
| Vomhof |
10-6 |
21-11 |
| Maggio |
9-7 |

Well, there’s still almost nowhere to go but up, I guess. Here are our picks for week 3. (more…)

Whew. We were about a minute from all five of us losing our survivor picks in week one. That would have been embarrassing.
As it turns out, playing it safe was the way to go. Three pickers took Seattle. Three pickers survived. One took Los Angeles and one took Arizona. They start the consolation round. Looks like the respective pickers’ strategies aren’t changing much in week two:
Vomhof: Carolina
Andy: Carolina
Tony: Carolina
Maggio: Detroit
Rich: Seattle

Well … that was ugly.
Contributing writer John Vomhof led the pack by picking 11 games correctly in week one. Nobody else got more than nine. Fantasy Editor Maggio missed 10.
All in all, it was a rough start to the season for our pickers. Better things to come?
Here are the standings:

Record |
| Vomhof |
11-5 |
| Tony |
9-7 |
| Andy |
8-8 |
| Maggio |

It’s difficult to get a read on the NFL for the first few weeks of the season. And week two presents another collection of unpredictable match-ups. Here are our picks: (more…)

Last year the only person who could stop Rich in our Survivor Pool was Rich himself. He won going away and his perfect string stayed intact until week 9 – when he duplicated a pick (great editing on our part, eh?) and didn’t actually miss a game until week 14, when the Colts let him down big time against the Jaguars.
Rich returns to defend his title – and he’s starting the season with a gutty, contrarian pick right out of the gates.
Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio, who won the pool in 2014, contributing writer John Vomhof Jr. and co-founders Andy and Tony also will provide insight on survivor pool strategy.
It’s just about time for football. So here we go.
