I think we here at Zoneblitz made clear when we published our mock draft for this year’s annual player auction that we think they are relatively pointless and almost impossible to do well. We’ve done them two years in a row now but we don’t publish them until a week or so before the event takes place.
That said, there are already those out there analyzing what the 2010 draft will look like. This Sports Illustrated writer apparently believes the Chargers will beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl and that Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are going to be two of the teams to beat in college football this season.
Mock drafts a year out are passe. This is the modern era, we demand leading edge commentary. Based on their junior varsity performance last year, who is going to be drafted in 2016?
I took a look at this steaming pile of garbage that Perloff put out there – I ignored the actual players he listed as being drafted and took more interest in his draft order. Bears over Vikes? I just don’t see it – Cutler is good – but the Vikes schedule is rediculous (especially when the Williams boys are out) and regardless of the potential impact of Rosenfels, Harvin or Loadholt on offense (they’re all upside as I don’t see it getting any worse) – they are getting back Henderson, Farwell and Udezi on Defense. I think teams will be starting with the ball 10 yards further back this year and will average at least 4 points a game less against the purple.
To me it still depends on what happens the rest of the offseason, on how quickly Harvin & Co. pick up the offense, and several other factors.
I don’t see Rosenfels as a huge upgrade over T-Jack – to me he’s one of those quarterbacks that usually plays just well enough to get you beat.
I like Cutler a lot. He doesn’t guarantee the Bears anything, for sure, but he’s a huge upgrade over Orton. He doesn’t have a lot of receivers, but he’s got a couple good tight ends and I think he’ll make the wideouts they do have better – and I think his presence will create enough of a threat of the passing game to make Forte more effective as well.
Right now I’d pick the Vikings – but it’d be by a nose.
Well, I really don’t know that many NCAA football players this year, but I will discuss on what my team (Jets) need next year.
The Jets, in my opinion, will go around 10-6. So, They will be like, 18/21 pick, or something like that. And I have a feeling they will lose Shaun Ellis. So, I think they will get a DE/LB type of player.
Does anybody know a player that is going to be in the NFL Draft in 2010, that is a DE/LB?
Miaimi should pick around 32nd and I won’t care than. :)
One of the burning questions at next years draft IMO will be ” Is Colt McCoy good enough to be a starting QB in the NFL, especially after Vince Young’s failure?”. And will someone take him in the first round?
