So, yeah, yawn. Another week, another win for Andy. This season continues to play out in the exact opposite way 2017 did… for what it’s worth: a sandwich and a beer, maybe.
Here are the standings:
Week 3 | Andy 9-6 |
Season | Andy 35-26-2 |
And here are the picks:
1) Tony: Rams over Seahawks – Picking second and third hasn’t gone so well, so I’ll take the super hot Rams against the team that had a player flip the bird to their own bench last week.
2) Andy: Patriots over Colts – The Patriots are at home and they are better than the Colts – plus, Indy is beat up. I’ll take this one to the bank.
3) Andy: Saints over Redskins – Vegas seems to indicate this one as a lock — so why do I feel so uncomfortable with this pick?
4) Tony: Chargers over Raiders – A year ago, everyone was excited about the Raiders moving to Las Vegas–even seemingly the Oakland fans. Now…well, there’s always the Golden Knights.
5) Andy: Panthers over Giants – Sticking with the chalk on this one, even though I could see this going the other way.
6) Tony: Titans over Bills – The Bills followed up their stunning upset of the Vikings by getting shutout by the Green Bay Packers and their porous defense. Clay Matthews didn’t even have to illegally hit the quarterback to win!
7) Andy: Eagles over Vikings – I would like to think Minnesota has a chance, but it’s hard to wipe away the memory of last year’s NFC Championship game and the blowout the Vikings suffered in Philly two years ago that sent the season tumbling downhill.
8) Tony: Ravens over Browns – Yes, the losing streak is over. But that doesn’t mean the Browns aren’t going to keep being the Browns…at least until Hue is given his pink slip. Maybe even after that.
9) Andy: Bengals over Dolphins – Miami was exposed. They’re better than they have been, but they’re an 8-8 team … then again, so are the Bengals. Or maybe not.
10) Tony: Texans over Cowboys – The Cowboys have to be considering bringing Dez Bryant back…they’re just not sure if they want him to play defense, offensive line, or quarterback.
11) Andy: Steelers over Falcons – This is a battle of two QBs who play better at home. I’ll take Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh.
12) Tony: Broncos over Jets – I hesitated on this one because you’ve got a team heading East, and Case Keenum seems to be closer to 2016 Case Keenum than 2017 Case Keenum…but the Broncos defense should tee off on the rookie QB.
13) Andy: Packers over Lions – Surprised this one stayed on the board this long.
14) Tony: Chiefs over Jaguars – Offensive juggernaut vs defensive stalwart. Defensive sieve vs Blake Bortles. In this era, I’ll take the offensive team to win the regular season game.
15) Andy: 49ers over Cardinals – Bad versus worse.
Straight up, both of us actually had decent weeks–we’ve added Tony P. who has been picking in the comments to the mix as well (Tony, what did you go the first two weeks?):
Andy | Tony T. | Tony P. | |
Week 4 | 11-4 | 10-5 | 10-5 |
Total | 38-23-2 | 32-29-2 | 16-15-? |
Here are the picks:
Andy | Tony T. | Tony P. |
Rams | Rams | Rams |
Patriots | Patriots | Patriots |
Saints | Saints | Saints |
Chargers | Chargers | Chargers |
Panthers | Panthers | Panthers |
Titans | Titans | Titans |
Eagles | Eagles | Eagles |
Browns | Ravens | Ravens |
Bengals | Bengals | Bengals |
Texans | Texans | Texans |
Steelers | Steelers | Steelers |
Broncos | Broncos | Broncos |
Packers | Packers | Packers |
Jaguars | Chiefs | Chiefs |
49ers | 49ers | Arizona |
Not counting Thursday I’m 9-5-1, 9-5-1, 6-9 & 9-6 = 33-25-2
Lots of agreement this week on our picks. My only stray is Rosen and Zona’s D over Beathard and Niners at home in a slight upset.
I have a feeling Washington with a rested Adrian Peterson and a more in tune Alex Smith is going to give the New Orleans erratic D some fits. Should be a competitive and interesting Monday Night Game for many reasons. Mark Ingram will be back from suspension. Breeze going for a record.
Of course all I really care about in the NFL is seeing my Texans put it to the Cowboys on Sunday night. lol That would cap off a fine weekend :) Hook’em Horns! Go Astros!
Not feeling good about picking the Steelers at all. lol Should be a high scoring affair.
