Alternative picks: Week 17, 2018

Andy’s pretty well locked things up now. It’s just a matter of how much he wins by. Here are the standings:

And here are the last alternative picks of the regular season:

1) Andy: Chiefs over Raiders – I’m not really seeing a lot of reasons for Oakland to show up for this game.

2) Tony: Saints over Panthers – At least this week I picked the game knowing that the Panthers are down to their 3rd string QB…whoever that is.

3) Tony: Texans over Jaguars – The Jaguars are just one game away from ending the most disappointing season of any team in the league.

4) Andy: Seahawks over Cardinals – I’m not really seeing a lot of reasons for Arizona to show up for this game.

5) Tony: Rams over 49ers – The Rams have slowed in the second half of the season, but they really don’t want to end up having to possibly play in Chicago in January.

6) Andy: Patriots over Jets – It’s starting to feel like New England’s run may be closing in in an end, but it’s not going to start with the Jets this week.

7) Tony: Steelers over Bengals – The Steelers have been up and down, but the Bengals have been pretty much just down. Look for the Bengals to finally give Marvin Lewis…a cushy job in the front office, so Hue Jackson can drive the team to the bottom of the division. Wait, what?

8) Andy: Eagles over Washington – Should have taken this one higher. The defending Super Bowl champs have a lot to play for.

9) Tony: Chargers over Broncos – We could have a team tied for the best record in the AFC in as a wildcard.

10) Andy: Packers over Lions – Green Bay is playing to keep Philbin. With the guys they’ve interviewed to take McCarthy’s job so far, I’d want to keep him too.

11) Tony: Bills over Dolphins – Josh Allen has played better than I expected.  Ryan Tannehill has just lived up to my expectations.

12) Andy: Cowboys over Giants – The word seems to be that Dallas will at least start its front-line players. Why are the Giants favored?

13) Tony: Colts over Titans – I’m still a bit dumfounded the Titans are still in the hunt for a playoff spot.

14) Andy: Falcons over Bucs – If you could cancel pointless games, this one would be among the first to go.

15) Tony: Ravens over Browns – I really like where the Browns are headed–just not this week.

16) Andy: Bears over Vikings – Minnesota still just doesn’t seem able to put together a full game. Bears still have an outside shot at a bye.

It looks like Andy is going to hang on in straight-up picks, too, but Tony P. is hanging in there. Tony T. needs to go 16-0 with Andy going 0-16 to tie.
