Alternative picks — Week 15, 2018

Andy’s hot streak slowed a bit, has he hit just five of his eight picks in week 14, but he still picked up a game on Tony, who was .500 on his own selections. It’s becoming less a question of whether Andy will win the season and more a question of by how much.

Standings:

Here are the alternative picks for week 15.

1) Tony: Bears over Packers – I guess the Bears are for real. That, or my picking them will doom them. Either way, I win.

2) Andy: Texans over Jets – It probably wasn’t a horrible thing for Houston to take a loss last week. It would be less acceptable if they let it carry over to the point where the Jets steal a game from them. Texans will regain their intensity and name their score here.

3) Andy: Falcons over Cardinals – I’m a little surprised at just how wide the spread is on this game. Arizona has been bad, but it’s not like the Falcons have been great. This is, in retrospect, probably a little higher than I should have taken this one.

4) Tony: Bengals over Raiders – This is how bad the Raiders are…I’m willing to bet on Marvin Lewis & Hue Jackson over them.

5) Andy: Ravens over Buccaneers – Lamar Jackson has been doing a pretty decent job of beating up on the bad teams. If Baltimore can even slow the Bucs’ offense, this should be a fairly comfortable “W.”

6) Tony: Titans over Giants – The Titans defense has looked decent, so what the heck.

7) Andy: Vikings over Dolphins – I’m not really confident in anything the Vikings do right now, but they should be able to pull this one off at home. Will the newfound commitment to the run under Kevin Stefanski pay off?

8) Tony: Cowboys over Colts – See #6–the Cowboys defense is actually winning them games.

9) Andy: Saints over Panthers – One would think the Panthers could bite at any time, but they’ve been just horrible. Drew Brees has been relatively ordinary the last couple weeks, but that should be enough this week.

10) Tony: Jaguars over Washington – Washington is going be starting Josh Johnson, a quarterback that would be past his prime, if he’d had one.

11) Andy: Rams over Eagles – Now that the Rams have their 20 degree game out of the way, they should get back on track.

12) Tony: Seahawks over 49ers – The Seahawks beat the Vikings on Monday night, but they didn’t really look that good doing it.

13) Andy: Chiefs over Chargers – As the week has gone on I’m less and less confident of this game.

14) Tony: Browns over Broncos – The Browns have looked a lot a better since jettisoning Hue Jackson…gotta make the Bengals feeling good about him possibly being their next head coach.

15) Andy: Patriots over Steelers – Pittsburgh is a mess right now.

16) Tony: Bills over Lions – The Lions have to be one of the biggest disappointments of the 2018 season, and that’s not just because Matt Stafford ruined my fantasy season.

Tony T. has struggled a bit in recent weeks and that continued last week. Tony P. and Andy didn’t have their best weeks, but it was another head scratcher. So, 10 wins is probably alright.
